BEACON MINISTRIES -- LIGHTING THE DARKNESS

Isaiah 61:1-3 NASU

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners;

2 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,

3 To grant those who mourn in Zion giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.

So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified."

    Our heart-felt ministry target is to the marginalized people of our nation: those like the street people and homeless. We are diligent in our work to introduce any new converts from our events to the local churches who have shown interest or support. We believe wholeheartedly that Jesus gave the command to all of us to disciple "spiritual newborns and infants", equip them, and develop them to spiritual maturity. (ref. Ephesians 4:12-13; Hebrews 5:11-14) This takes some time and effort; hence, the need for ongoing ministry in the local churches to receive the fruit of our evangelistic reaping.

    In agreement with our two Commissions from Jesus, (Mark 16:15-18 AND Matthew 28:18-20) our purpose is encased in this passage from Isaiah. This was Jesus, the Messiah's, mission which has not changed. We can do no other according to His call upon us.

    Therefore, because the Spirit of
the Lord God is upon us,
He will supply His anointing
on us and through us --
